Life is a Journey - Heather McMcMahon - March Mood Board Inspiration

YOU STILL HAVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT TO GET YOUR ENTRY IN TO WIN A $100 GIFT VOUCHER FROM THE DUSTY ATTIC WEBSITE

The colours in this are so different to my usual colour choices but I love them! Here's the mood board. Now you'll see why I chose these colours.

I was influenced by the colours, the 'journey' theme (I used the mood board wording as my title) and the photo second from the left at the bottom (I added hessian under my globe chippie then tied it in place with string.)

My son left home last month to go to uni and, as much as it was heartbreaking to see him go, I was so proud of him because he was so confident about it. I thought he would be terrified but he was very casual about it all and has had a ball at uni. As parents, I think we sometimes worry over nothing!

The wording on the mood board was so appropriate for this layout that I tore it out and added it as my title

There are lots of different chippies on this page. I found I had to limit myself so as not to overwhelm the photo!

There is lot of mixed media on this page. The hessian was an afterthought and it covered a lot of the background work up. Still, I opted to go with it cos I liked it!

The Dusty Attic products I used are:
Creative Script Stencil DA1495

Dusty in Colour - Hot Chocolate DA0923

Around the World DA1036

Vintage Keys DA0392

Trellis Large DA1031
(I used both the trellis and the diamonds from the centres)

Argyle Panel Small DA1011
(I used the diamonds from the centres only)

Paris Post Mark DA0320

Him & Her Border DA1065

Happy scrappin'!

Breathe - Helena Johansson - Mood Board Inspiration

Hi! The layout I'm sharing today is made using the Dusty Attic moodboard this month. It is a stunner, so it was easy creating using these colors. Here's the moodboard:

And here's my layout:

I created a soft and romantic page, painting all the chippies with white gesso and then distressed some of them a bit. I have used papers from Pion Design (For Father collection), perfect colors!

In the background I have used the Cracked Stone Stencil (DA1392) with Dusty Attic texture paste.

The Ornate Frame (DA1467) is a real beauty, and thankfully there are two in this set, so I have a smaller one left for another project!

In the upper left corner I have used two Ornate Pendants (DA1359), layered them and put a little metal spoon from Prima on top. For no other reason than because it looked pretty there ;)

The title "Breathe" is from Word Pack #10 (DA166).

I also put the Ivy Flourish (DA1460) on the frame.

Thank you for stopping by today!

xoxo
Helena

Cherish - Lisa Gregory

Hello Dusty Attic Lovers. Lisa here today, to bring you this sweet layout inspired by our Mood Board this month. The very touch of pink in the March Moodboard, swimming in a sea of neutral colors, simply caught my eye. I had to make the pink pop!! I chose a paper collection with very little color. Epiphany by Prima. It was the perfect backdrop to showcase the gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard and blooms.

I die cut the spiral roses and sprayed them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Salt Water Taffy Starburst. I also sprayed the Dusty Attic blooms with the same color. I soaked the Spring Blooms #4 in some water, peeled the layers back a bit to give it dimension, wrinkled them up a bit and dried them. I gave them a spritz of Lindy's Stamp Gang South Shore Sand spray, flecked a bit of watered down white gesso onto it,  and topped the middles with some pearls.

I used the single blooms in the Spring Bloom set and did the same technique with them.

I cut the word cherish between the R and the I to adhere it beside the frame.

The Vintage Frame #2 is simply divine. I primed it with gesso, then added a thick coating of Viva Crackle paint. Once it was dried, I sprayed it with Lindy's South Shore Sand Flat Fabio spray. The color settled in the cracks beautifully.

Here is a closeup of the Elegant Frame where you can see more detail in the crackle technique.

I love how the crackle medium looks on the French Flourish Border chipboard. Like a fine weathered piece of wrought iron.

Adore - Rajni Chawla - Mood Board Inspiration

Don't forget to share your new creation following our March moldboard using Dusty Attic chipboards in your project. There is $100 Dusty Attic Gift Voucher for the winner. Simply link your creation in the right of the Dusty Attic Blog. .

Here is the March month mood-board.

Now my take on March mood-board.

Here's the thing about love. It's hard to put into words. You are not an option, a choice or a soft place to land after a long battle. You were meant to be the one. If you can wrap yourself around the idea that you are something incredible, then you will stop excusing behavior that rapes your very soul. You were never meant to teach someone to love you. You were meant to be loved. Try to adore yourself and trust me you will fall short of words to pen down that amazing feeling.

To start with I selected patterns paper from Love Story Collection by Blue Fern Studios and Glued it to thick black chipboard. Primed a part of it with a light coat of white gesso and different layers of textures using Dusty Attic texture Paste, stencils and stamps. Misted the background using various shades of sprays. When happy with the background I start building layers of handmade pattern papers adding  dimensions with dimensional tape.

Here is the close up shot to show you different layers that I created.

All the chipboard pieces used (except DA Feather Charm #4) were painted using Dusty in colour Alabaster, Dusty in colour Hot Chocolate and Dusty in colour Raisin. I used DA .............. to create the base for all the embellishments. I just simply stained DA Feather Charm and sprinkled some clear glitters to enhance the beauty of the charm.

I used fussy cut images of flowers form Graphic45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection and Gilded Lily Collection. "Be Happy" is from DA Word Disk Collection #1.
Title "Adore" is from DA Word Pack #14

Now onto main focal image. Its from Deco-mania Rice Paper. Cut the image, glue it onto thick card stock and then paint it with Dusty Attic Clear Crackle Varnish and set it to dry for 3-4 hours. Here is the pic to show you the beautiful textures that I got with this crackle.

Look how gorgeous is the output of  DA IVY Corner #2 around the picture. I love it !!

On the top edge and the right side corner were distressed with scissors and stained a little with vintage photo distress ink by Ranger.

Love Love !!

Love the overall look of the project. Hope you liked it too.
